The University of Calcutta to which Rani Birla Girls' college is affiliated, has introduced the 1+1+1 system of examinations for all undergraduate(Honours and General)courses with effect from 2005-2006 academic session.Students have to appear at part-1 examination at the end of the 1st year,at the part-11 examination at the end of 2nd year and at the part-111 examination at the end of 3rd year.
According to Calcutta University regulations,a student must have attended 75% of the lectures delivered and must have passed the selection examination conducted by his/her college in order to be eligible for appearing at the University examinations.
A student who has attended less than 75% but not less than 60% of the lectures delivered is considered as non-collegiate and may be allowed to sit for university examination subject to the payment of requisite condonation fees.
Rani Birla Girls’ College has her own system of continuous assessment and evaluation of students’ performance since inception. Tutorials and regular class tests are conducted for all students in every subject. In addition, mid term tests and selection examinations are also held before each batch of students appear at university examinations.
