The department of Geography has a well-organised laboratory equipped with i) Survey instruments like Dumpy Level, Prismatic Compass, Measuring Staff, Ranging Rods, Ground Pins, etc; ii) Mapping instruments like Planimeter, Rotameter, Mirror Stereoscope,Pocket Stereoscope etc; to meet the requirements of Geography practical classes for the undergraduate honours and general courses.
The department also has a rich collection of Topographical Maps of India, Satellite Imageries, and Aerial Photographs. Over the years the department has procured several rocks and mineral samples also.
The laboratory is continuously upgraded and modernized in line with the new topics introduced in the undergraduate syllabus. Personal computers have been installed with GIS software 21st century solutions for each PC used by the students for map making.
An Audio-Visual room installed with various audio-visual instruments like television, tape recorder, overhead projector, LCD projector enables the faculty to make use of modern teaching aids. This is particularly beneficial for students doing undergraduate courses in Communicative English and in Journalism and Mass Communication.
